2024-2025 Hampton Investment Program

$150 for the first 500 students to sign up, across all class years

  • The Hampton Investment Program is a partnership between Stackwell and Hampton University with the goal of empowering students with an opportunity to build financial wellness before they graduate.

All current Hampton students can receive $150 in seed investment grants to start their investing journey with Stackwell. We’ll accept the first 500 students who complete our interest form.

Throughout the school year, Stackwell will provide learning events and opportunities to understand personal finance and how to earn income through the stock market. We want you to be confident and ready to take your investing journey!

  • Yes! We’re excited for you to keep stacking with us and we invite you to build more knowledge about financial wellness.

We encourage you to share your experience with your friends and peers – tell others to apply, too!

  • We’re revamping the program and accepting students across all class years – not just freshmen!

The first 500 students to complete our interest form will receive $150 in seed investment grants.

  • Please complete our interest form using your hamptonu.edu email address and we’ll send you more information about participating in the Hampton Investment Program.

Once you’ve been selected as one of the first 500 students, you’ll need to set up your investment account through the Stackwell app and attend one of our financial education events to receive your full $150 grant.

  • The interest form will close at 11:59pm EST on October 4, 2024.

  • Once you complete the interest form, two things will happen:

    • You’ll receive an email with instructions to download the Stackwell app. After completing the onboarding process and fully setting up your investment account, the first half of your grant ($75) will be added to your account and ready to invest.

    • The second half of your grant ($75) will be credited after you attend one of our financial education events.

  • 1) Download the Stackwell app to your smartphone.

    2) Register for a Stackwell account using your hamptonu.edu email address.

    3) Within 3 days, you’ll see the first half of your grant ($75) in your Stackwell account. (Note: we can’t do this on a weekend or holiday, so please count 3 non-holiday weekdays.)

    4) To access the second half of your grant ($75), attend our events! We’re hosting our first on September 19 before the Clubs & Orgs Bazaar. Throughout the school year we’ll have more opportunities to connect, virtually and in-person, to continue helping you along your investment journey and sharing the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

Our virtual events are targeted for November and March, and we’ll do one more on-campus when classes start up again for the spring semester.

The Stackwell team will communicate with you primarily through email and text about the program. We will notify you of the dates and times of our upcoming events, and share other news and resources about how to be successful throughout the program. You can also read through the learning modules on our app and follow us on socials to stay connected to Stackwell.

Share your thoughts! We may ask for feedback throughout the program on how we’re doing and your experience with investing and finances as we move through the school year.

  • After completing the interest form with your Hamptonu.edu email, we’ll send you an email with instructions to download the Stackwell app and claim the first half of your grant ($75), which will be ready to invest in your new account.

To access the remaining half ($75), you must attend one of our financial education events. The second grant will be credited after the event.

    • If you are unable to attend this semester, we’ll offer more events in the spring, either in-person or virtually.

    • To ensure Hampton students have the chance to see their money grow in the market and fully benefit from this opportunity, withdrawal restrictions may apply. For any questions, feel free to contact support@stackwellcapital.com

  • The Stackwell team will facilitate financial wellness education throughout the program. We’ll be back on campus in the spring for another in-person event, and will hold virtual events too.

Outside of our events, participants can also access financial wellness education through other Stackwell resources: on the Stackwell Platform through our self-guided learning content, our social media platforms, and with opportunities to connect virtually with the Stackwell team.

  • Yes! The goal of our program is to help you be confident in investing and build healthy investing behaviors, which can look like investing your own funds into the market on a regular recurring basis.
